  Formula-SimRacing.net website [30-09-2008 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
We have spent many hours behind the scene, thinking how to improve the feeling of a simracer. We want to give you, as simracer, a real feeling of solidarity with our FSR league. You will see that we have seperated our old FSR website, which was basically a big database called GPCOS. We will still be using this website, but only for the technical aspects as registrations, login area and all technical news (tracks, mods, updates).

The new website will solely be used as a news website, comparable with sites as http://f1.gpupdate.net/. This site is for you, our FSR members, it will feature rumours, interviews, talks and much more for you to have a greater experience as FSR simracer.

To celebrate the new website, we release the FSR Prizes for this World Championship season. We want to thank our sponsors Act-Labs, and X6 Simulations for their support! Last but not least we want to thank PSR TV for providing our Live Broadcasts!

  FIM Speedway Grand Prix 3 Review [22-09-2008 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
If I know one thing, it is European stadium dirt bike racing. Just kidding. Actually, I saw this on Gamer’s Gate and said, “huh, that looks different.” So here we are, a review of FIM Speedway Grand Prix 3. I am a fan of quality racing simulations and it's always good to try something new (like Brussels sprouts). Plus, the developer is responsible for Xpand Rally, which was a good game. Off to the races!

  GTR Evolution Review [15-09-2008 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
Another year, another SimBin racing title. Not that there is anything wrong with that, as SimBin has been responsible for a series of quality racing simulations, starting with GTR and continuing through last year's RACE 07. This year's iteration is effectively a combination of SimBin's two series, taking the fantastic RACE 07 gameplay and adding in the GT cars from games past. GTR Evolution takes an interesting approach to the standalone expansion: existing owners of RACE 07 can buy it for $20, or new players can get both games in one package for $40.

  iRacing.com, Waves the Green Flag [02-09-2008 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
The Bedford, MA, company has been working on its simulation—which combines PC-based software with a subscription-based Internet service that allows participants to race against each other—since 2004. The company has a staff of 42, half in Bedford and half (primarily digital artists and software engineers) working remotely, according to Scott McKee, iRacing’s vice president of marketing.

  GTR, GTR2, GT Legends Lobbies Return [14-08-2008 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
After 10TACLE Studios took the matchmaking lobbies for GTR, GTR2, GT Legends offline, developer SimBin has taken control of the situation, and put the servers back online. Here are quotes from SimBin and their cooperative ISP:

We want to make sure that our fans can continue to enjoy our games on line and we are very happy that we could find a fast and positive solution together with KGN" said Henrik Roos, SimBin CEO. "It is of course sad to hear that our former partner has ended up in this situation", added Roos.

"KGN’s K-Play has been supporting 'GTR', 'GTL' and 'GTR 2' from the start and we are proud to be the key service-provider for these great games. Therefore we will continue our service in cooperation with SimBin in spite of the unfortunate insolvency of 10tacle. The cooperation will have K-Play continuing all the online-services for 'GTR', 'GTL' and 'GTR 2' waiving all additional fees and SimBin covering only the arising costs of keeping the server-infrastructure online” said Götz Klingelhöfer, CEO of KGN.

Race Driver: GRID Review at BRnNR [14-08-2008 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
Fans of racing simulators have got a lot to crow about these days, with plenty of cool current and upcoming titles for all gaming platforms. It’s a different story for arcade racing games though, where things have been rather disappointing for awhile. Codemasters, the makers of the ToCA, Race Driver and Colin McRae series have recently changed that, with a hot new title featuring some of the world’s premier performance cars and tracks; gorgeous visuals, and a damage system that has to experienced to be believed. Racing just got exciting again. Welcome to GRID.
