Description:
Codemasters has released the playable demo for IndyCar Series, allowing you to experience the high-speed racing simulation that is nearing completion at Brain In A Jar. This demo contains the Texas Motor Speedway track that you can drive in test and race modes. The original file needlessly included a DirectX 8.1 distribution, so our copy is a 32 MB smaller download by removing that.
We here at Team Blackhole Motorsports
need your help. As you all know, the team puts in a great deal
of effort to provide you with the latest news and downloads
from the sim racing world. However, all of this hardwork comes
at a steep cost. Until now we have been able to maintain ourselves
but recent site popularity is making this more and more difficult.
Last month alone we transferred over 1.3TBs (thats 1,300GBs)
of data. The cost to provide that much bandwidth is expensive
and we need your help to keep us going. We are kindly asking
our patrons to use the PayPal donate button to make donations.
The PayPal donation is a secure and easy way to send your donations
directly to Team Blackhole Motorsports. Please help us by contributing
a donation so we can continue to provide you with the latest
news and downloads from the sim world.

haha I'm starting to lose my respect for codemasters, first they make toca "arcade" driver then they fuck up cm3, finally they realease this remade console arcade game for pc! I want a realistic indy-simulator like all of us! I guess I have to wait for F1 challenge which probaly will kill codemasters three last failures!!
Tubie,
They make them Arcade because they cant just make games for hardcore sim racers because there sales for the game suck. All ages gotta be able to play not just us...
jimmyjak, don't bother bro'. The game would work fine for any 11 year old. Christ, the physics are not much better than Test Drive II that i had on my Amiga some 13 years ago... I totally agree with Tubie. (Apart from waiting for a F1 game, I am playing N2k3 instead :p)
So after a bunch of laps at Texas in ICS, here's the deal:
1) The demo says that it is "70%" completed, and it feels like it, too. The user interface is pretty lame, and there's very few options to tweak.
2) The in-car view has a really ugly dashboard. I'm sure it's not finished.
3) There are no mirrors. I hope they add them.
4) The rest of the graphics, and the replays, are sweet. The track looks great, and the opponent cars do too. The frame rate is awesome, it runs very smooth and I have everything pumped up to max.
5) The car feel is similar to CMR3, but in an IndyCar, of course. There are bumps on the track, and you definitely feel them when you hit them. The driving physics are very good, but not NASCAR 2003. It is fun to drive.
6) The demo only lets you run 10 lap races, and the car is an automatic that shifts at weird times.
7) The AI cars are awesome, they are smart.
8) The wrecks afre incredible, and very believable.\
9) The spotter is the best. And he sounds exactly like the ones you hear over the pit radio on TV broadcasts. "Inside..inside...inside... still there... inside...inside...clear!" And they are exactly right. Good thing, too, because without the #%$ mirrors, at this speed, you definitely get a sense of danger out there.
10) The sense of speed is right on.
why does the car act like the brakes are always on? I have my foot off the pedal, all other controllers diabled and still it doesn't work? What's my problem?
Wow! I can't believe they had the nerve to completely destroy the toca series, release a sub-par rally game and this piece of crap indycar game all in one year. I heard papyrus is working on a cart sim, man i hope it's true. It seems no-one else knows anything about car physics, except the LFS guys of course.
