Looks like it's official ladies and gents, there will be no new NASCAR games from EASPorts now or in the future.

Speaking with GameSpot for a Dreamcast retrospective on next week's episode of the HotSpot podcast, EA Sports president Peter Moore has removed all uncertainty from the equation. "There are no plans right now for NASCAR from EA," Moore said. "We had a great relationship over the years that I thoroughly enjoyed when I first got here. Unfortunately&we had to make some tough trade-offs. We've had to redeploy some of those folks. A number of the NASCAR team has moved over now to EA Sports MMA, which will be shipping next year. [We're] still a huge fan of NASCAR, but no plans right now to develop any further games for NASCAR from EA Sports.

With the permanent demise of Madden for the PC it really doesn't come as a surprise that EASports would take this tack, especially with Peter Moore at the helm.
I have to say that ever since Moore took over EASports it seems like things have taken a turn for the worse, especially for PC gamers. The games we loved have been slowly taken away from us until there is practiclly nothing left.
So now it is up to the modders out there to either update the older titles, or to creat mods for other games that are playable on the PC such as the NSR mod for rFactor.

| I wish that the console games like Nascar 09 for the PS3 and XBOX 360 were able to be modded, if It was, ppl could like post it on the like a file share like halo 3 so ppl could download it, heck I would have started on a roster update if it was possible. |

with any luck, this may mean a new developer can get into the mix to bring us some fantastic racing! Consolers alike (X-Box or Playstation) shouldn't get all the fun. Us PC Racers need something to get our racing blood thickened! 
So maybe next year we'll get something?

I heard that iRacing was going to get NASCAR. Bad part about that is the pricey subscription and I do not believe that iRacing is able to be played offline - so leaves a lot of people out who enjoy racing AI.
