Hi!
I'm writting hear to ask how do you guys do at the big Mineshaft jump on the Australian rally. I'm a bit newbie on RBR, when i'm driving towards the jump, i don't know how to do it in order to make a spectacular jump. If i kick to hard on the car, when i reach ground again, the car just cuts off, big crash, car completely wrecked; if i drive at a lower speed, there's no jump!
How do you do it?

I slow down so much that I don't get much air at all. I play for realism and that jump at speed is death. I have on occasion committed suicide there for the fun of it Laughing

This is how they do it in reallife http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d7a44ea4-b97c-487d-846c-98e500afe556.htm Shocked

I usualy change down to 3rd gear and blip the throttle just as i go off the edge and jump all the way, a bit shorter in Championship mode usualy though but sometimes i just have to jump all the way wich usualy breaks all the dampers Laughing

i think he breaks a bit before entering the upper side of the delevel and then pedal to the metal to get impulsion to make the car "fly".

now, only for curiosity, look at this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V-0-pMfSIY Razz

Turn damage off and make a U turn after the jump, go back up and try again. Good for practise and lot's of fun.

I watched the clip from the Mineshaft Jump. great video btw.
I found this clip, check it out, Ford Focus practesing drift on tarmac.
great sound & driving.

ot. @2re: i'm not sure anymore, it seems everytime i do something i belive in the "comunity" falls apart just like the the car on full throttle at mineshaft, you know the feeling, just b4 the banner at the top, you know you must hit the brakes, but something inside, maybe the boredom of playing same track like thousandth times, makes you flat it out, then close the eyes or look away, thinking altF4...

There is no need to risk at this jump. The problem is that in RBR
you don't get a good sense of speed, so you may think you are very
slow , and then fly into the outer atmosphere.
The best is to jump it at diferent speeds , and then you will see at which
speed you jump the best.
I try to jump only a little and try to land with all 4 wheels at the same time.
But in championship I try to not kill the dampers , that 2 seconds you loose
by not jumping, you can make up thrue the next corners.

OT: Wuld it help black , if I wuld send my sister's girlfriends to your place,
for a pajama party ,maybe they can encourage you somehow Wink

I think you need a good balance of taking it carefully but hitting the jump some too. I hit it in 3rd almost flat out. Then as I am about to go over, I slam on the brakes and shift the weight of the car forward. I am slow enough that I won't do what the guy in the video above does (ouch) but fast enough where I won't lose time from being too careful. When you transfer weight forward at the crest it ensures that you land on all 4 wheels and distribute the force to all 4 dampers.

Same as Guybo with the braking Smile But if I take too much speed with me, I usually end up front wheels or nose first! Many times, I've damaged my radiator or even some engine components on that jump!

All this talking made curious, what if we have a 'Mineshaft 2' stage which is the reverse of Mineshaft, will the car be able to climb up that 'jump'? Very Happy

I drove Mineshaft for the first time today. When Robert Reid called "Caution, crest" I said... "bah! It's only a crest!". I went full speed and the car went airborne and then I realized why 'Mineshaft' sounded familiar to me. Laughing

120-130 KM/H, Very goods jumps, and no damage landing, but you have to brake until 110 KM/H, and in the final final meters, accelerate to 120-130 KM/H
